One of the best things about receiving God’s help is that it is always available. The word “always” covers a lot of time and space. That means the Lord’s arms are constantly outstretched to help His children. Oftentimes it’s just a matter of asking Him to help us but most times it is His powerful love, grace, and compassion that He extends without us saying a word.

I remember a time in my life when I faced a situation that seemed absolutely unbearable. I didn’t even have enough strength to pray a long prayer, quote scriptures, or make declarations. I simply cried out to God with a sincere heart that was desperate for His immediate attention. Even though my prayer was short God knew that it was real. He answered my prayer that was inclusive of two words, “Lord Help!” He caught my tears that were precious to Him and knew what each one meant. Oh how I praise our great and mighty King for His compassion and unfailing love.

I encourage you to give anything that is troubling you to the Lord. In the New Living Translation of the Bible 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” I’ve heard some people say they’ll figure their problems out on their own because God has too many other people to answer. That couldn’t be further from the truth. He is never too busy to listen to you. He loves you and is willing and more than able to help you.  Just ask Him.

 Reflections

  1. Do you take advantage of the help that the Lord freely offers or do you try to
    handle everything on your own?
  2. Psalm 46:1 says that the Lord is a very present help in the time of trouble.
Name some times when you needed the Lord’s immediate help and He
    answered you
  3. What do you like most about receiving help from the Lord?
