I almost missed it! While God was subtly opening things up for me in other areas I was focused on a problem that seemed larger than life and appeared to have no solution. Even though within the depths of my being I knew that it was impossible for God to lie, and that He had promised to watch over His word to perform it, I needed a manifested answer from God right away.

I almost missed assessing what God had done in my life up until the present time. Even though trials occurred His blessings never ceased. He remained consistent and faithful and not once was He oblivious to my time sensitive situation. I am truly in agreement with the lyrics of the popular gospel song sung by Dottie Peoples which states, “He’s an on time God, yes He is!”

God never misses a beat. He is not slack concerning His promises, and He knows the precise time to bring forth the answers to life’s problems. Yes, while I was wasting time focusing on the “big problem,” I failed to pause and look at the things that God had already worked out in my life.

I thank God for waking me up and showing me the big picture and reminding me to re-focus. That re-focusing caused me to repent for being distracted in the first place. He brought forth the answer to my pressing problem just as He had before through His faithful arms of love and compassion.

God does not change. He will forever remain the one who gives water in dry places, exchanges beauty for ashes, gives joy in place of sorrow, and makes seemingly impossible situations possible. It is my hope that the sharing of my experience will help someone who may be going through the same thing.

Reflections

  1. Are you in this situation right now?

  1. If you answered yes to the first question what will you do to re-focus and direct your attention to God instead of the problem?

  1. Make a “Thank You List.”   Write at least five things that you are grateful for. Be sure to include some times when God made a way for you when there seemed to be no way.

God Bless!
