“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 KJV

If you are reading this blog then the Lord has blessed you to see a brand new year. Just think about that for a moment, the Lord has given you an opportunity to be a live participant in a year that you have never seen before. Therefore, 2014 is definitely a new time and a new place that the Lord has made.

Let’s endeavor to trust God more than ever this year. Let’s look to Him as the orchestrator of our faith. The word of God tells us that He sets our faith in motion. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He takes us from one plateau to the next, and He never leaves us alone while we’re on our journey.

My beautiful mother passed at the beginning of last month, talk about a new time and a new place for both of us. She is in a new place and new time. She is now in a place where she no longer has to suffer but, is free from the many years of pain that she endured. It’s a new place and time for me because I had to enter into a new year in a bittersweet mode; grateful to see 2014 but, missing my mom at the same time.

Yes 2014 will be filled with new things, from celebrations to challenges. It is wise for us to acknowledge the Lord in whatever the case may be. The word of God says, “For the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” Psalms 37:23   He will always show us the way.

Reflections

1. What new things would you like to experience this year?

2. What has been your most difficult life challenge?

3. In the opening scripture God promises to do the impossible. What has He done in your life that seemed impossible but, He did something totally new that changed the entire situation?
