Wouldn’t you like to make kissing the comfort zone goodbye a priority in your life? Have you ever pondered what’s on the other side of your comfort zone? One thing is certain, you will never find out until you make the decision to step out of it. Dare to step out of your comfort zone and into the places that God wants you to experience.  Dare to leave the places behind that have hindered you, caused you to become stagnant, and may have even caused you pain.  Make a commitment to pursue the joy and freedom that the Lord has prepared just for you.

Reach for more than what you have been used to having. Trust that God will help you to step out of your comfort zone.  The thought of It may seem a little frightening at first but, remember that “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (1Tim 1:7 KJV).”  Begin to thank God for His perfect love, power, and sound thoughts overshadowing you.  Ask Him to allow you to feel His love as never before and to clothe you with His courage.

Before you know it you will begin taking steps away from that old familiar place into a new way of life. You will experience growth, strength, courage, freedom, and blessings that you never even knew existed.  So how about it?  How about taking that first step today?  Walk with the assurance that your Heavenly Father always wants what’s best for you and is holding your hand every step of the way!

REFLECTIONS

1.  What is the biggest thing in your life that has caused you not to step out of the comfort zone, i.e., fear, anxiety, etc.?

2.  How long do you think you have been in the comfort zone?

3.  Journal about what your comfort zone is. Write down the date that you will take your first step in saying goodbye to it. Ask the Lord to help you, and follow His leading.  Keep this scripture in mind, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this (Psalm 37:5 NIV).”
