Wisdom’s Winning Voice

Wisdom’s Winning Voice

If you ever want to learn about the value of wisdom just begin reading the book of Proverbs and you will soon discover how valuable it is.  It is something that we simply cannot do without.   I call it, “wisdom’s winning voice” because obeying words of wisdom will always lead to success.

For instance, following wisdom will protect you from harm.  It will open doors for you.  It will keep you away from the wrong people and stop you from getting involved in wrong situations.  Wisdom will also promote you, and cause others to seek specific help from you.

Ignoring the voice of wisdom is foolish because it comes from God and He knows all things.  We will never know a better way than how He leads us.  His word even instructs us to ask Him for wisdom if it is lacking in our lives.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

                                                                                          – James 1:5 NIV

It’s vitally important to remember that there is always a cost to pay when the choice is made not to listen to words of wisdom.   This is especially true when you are aware that the Lord is showing you a better way of doing something and the unwise choice is made to ignore Him.  It is disrespectful and turns into rebellion.

Make this a time that you consciously commit to allowing wisdom to be active in your life like never before.  As you do, you can expect advancement to occur.  Obeying the voice of wisdom will always cause you to win.

Reflections

1. What are some valuable things that you have learned by applying wisdom to your life?
2. Name some people in your life that you consider to be wise? What have you learned from them?
3. What will you do to make sure that you follow the voice of wisdom?

When I first heard someone say “God lives in you”, I believed it but didn’t take it any further than that. It wasn’t until I heard God’s voice tell me after I was asking Him for something through prayer…”You have the authority right now to make this happen.” And that’s when it hit me that many times we lean so heavily on God and wait for our prayers to be answered, but during our wait, we forget about the power He has already given us. When we become ill or maybe someone we know is sick, do we pray for their healing? Absolutely! However, we must understand that once we are saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, God has given us the authority to lay hands on our own bodies or those who are sick and claim their healing in Jesus name. And we should believe it will be done. Why? Because we as children of God have been granted this authority and it clearly states in Matthew 18:18 – “Truly I say to you,  whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

I walked around many years doing all I knew to do which was to simply give it to God, but didn’t fully understand that He gave me the authority to speak and walk as if it’s already done. Because it truly is done. I had to realize that God wants His best for us while we are here on Earth. We can only live our best life when He is in control and we walk in and use the authority He has given us to overcome the great and challenging obstacles in life. My level of faith and knowing who I am has increased over time since I came to fully understand my authority. And we must share our revelations and experiences with others so that we can all know we are more than conquerors. What a gift that God has given us and we have to tap into it, use it and be a blessing to many.

Understanding my authority has helped me become more confident in who I am in Christ and has allowed me to trust God more and more in everything that I do both personally and professionally when things are going good and when tough times surface. We serve a great God and the more time we spend with Him, He will guide our thoughts to get us to a place of preparation for any and every circumstance in our life.

Let’s walk in our authority!

Reflections

1. What are some things in your life that you need to take authority over?
2. Can you think of a time that you used your authority in Christ and saw a turnaround? How did this make you feel?

A Season Of Change

A Season Of Change

A season of change has definitely arrived. Springtime is here and just about all of the signs of winter have passed away.  Depending on where you live you may have noticed greenery and flowers blooming in areas that were once dry and barren.

Another change that occurs this time of year is that many people do their spring cleaning. They make sure that each room in the house would pass any white glove inspection. And racing to get rid of things that haven’t been used in years becomes top priority.

Let’s look at deep cleaning from a spiritual point of view. What needs to be changed in this area of your life?  Let’s make a commitment to do a thorough inward examination of our own souls.  The soul consists of our minds, wills, and emotions.

We have to truthfully answer some serious questions such as, are our thoughts and motives pure?  Have we submitted our wills to the will of the Lord or do we live our lives without even considering Him?  Do we have control of our emotions or do we let our emotions control us?  How is our love walk?  Are we expressing love in a way that God would be pleased?  How is our tone when we talk to people?  There are so many other things that can be added to this list, but the point is that the Lord wants us to live with hearts that seek to please Him.

As we experience the beauty, newness, and good changes in this new season let’s remember to take a spiritual inventory and determine what needs to be eliminated from our lives. The Lord is so willing to help us make that change, we just have to submit those things to Him and follow His lead.

Reflections

  • When was the last time that you did a thorough spiritual examination?

  • Does your way of doing things line up with God’s way of doing things?

  • What steps will you take to remove those things that are contrary to God’s way of doing things?

It is our goal to bring you anointed words and services that inspire, encourage, and foster a closer relationship with the Lord. We thank God for you and want you to know that you’re always welcome at The Angelic Pen, “Where the words of heaven flow from God’s Heart to your spirit.”  Kimberly Smith
