“If you trust and never doubt He will surely bring you out.  Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there.”  Oh how I remember singing that song when I was growing up.  Somehow just singing it and thinking about the words would increase my faith.  All I had to do according to the song was to take my burdens to God, leave them with Him, and believe that He was going to take care of whatever situation that had been troubling me.  Some people who have not had a lot of history with God may not understand that patience and faith work together.  Knowing this fact causes you to trust that God is going to “bring you out” as the song says.

It is a wonderful thing to know that God is so concerned about each of us on a personal level.  He doesn’t separate us into groups by saying, “this group I will love but, that group I will show My love to them when they get their lives together.”   His word says that He is not a respecter of persons (Rom 2:11) and that He rains on the just and the unjust (Mt 5:45).

The Lord has given us an awesome reason to give our burdens to Him and that is simply knowing that He loves and cares for us so deeply that He is willing to carry our burdens for us.

What a mighty, loving, caring, awesome God we serve.  We are so blessed to have Him as a stable and safe resting place in which we can confidently cast our cares.  We can know with full assurance that He will provide a solution that is in our best interest (Jer 29:11)

Reflections

1.  We have all had burdens that have entered into our lives at one point or another.  How do you handle these times in your life?

2.  Are you going through a tough time right now?  If so, have you given the entire situation over to the Lord or are you still trying to handle it on your own?

3.  Always remember that God wants to bless you and heal you of your pain.
