Do You Have Your Father’s Eyes?  I’m not referring to blue, brown, or hazel-colored eyes that may match those of your biological father but, I am speaking of spiritual eyes that match those of your Heavenly Father.  Of course, there are no earthly words that can accurately describe the greatness, excellence, and magnificence of our God.  However, we know what His attributes are because the Holy Bible tells us that God is love (1Jn 4:8).  According to Psa 145:8, He is full of mercy, and compassion, and doesn’t get angry easily.  He is faithful (1Cor 1:9).  The descriptions of His character are too many to mention in this blog.  However, it’s enough to allow you to examine yourself to see if it is apparent that your life shows that you have a relationship with the Almighty God.

For Instance:

  • Do you see as He sees?
  • Do you like what He likes?
  • Do you hate what He hates?
  • Do you feel what He feels?
  • Do you listen to things that please His ears?
  • Is your heart filled with compassion?
  • Do you find it easy to forgive others or do you keep score and hold grudges?
  • Do you love everyone?

Do you have your Father’s eyes?  Can people look at you and see so much of God in your life that they can feel His goodness emanating from you?   I’m sure that the Lord smiles when He sees His children exhibiting His character.  We are not perfect and will certainly fall short of getting things right every time but, we can be confident that He is always there with love, mercy, wisdom, correction, and forgiveness to help us do better and continue in our walk with Him.

Just as a good earthly father is proud of his children when they do things that are right such as walking in integrity, treating people with kindness, dignity, and respect, getting back up when they fall, and the list goes on; our Heavenly Father is proud of us when we do things that show forth His character.

Let’s be intentional about having our Father’s eyes and seeing as He sees.

Reflections

  1. What part of your character do you think pleases God?
  2. What part of your character needs improvement?
  3. Have a heart-to-heart talk with the Lord and ask Him to help you let more of His nature shine in and through you.
  4. Listen to the powerful song by Amy Grant titled “My Father’s Eyes.”   Take note of how the song makes you feel.  The song can be found on YouTube at the following link:  https://youtu.be/PECqVbfdreE

God Bless You!

The Embrace of God

The Embrace of God

Have you ever felt the warmth of God’s embrace?

Has He ever whispered powerful words in your ears that were filled with His love?

Have you ever felt sad, with tears streaming down your face, and suddenly realized that your mood had changed?  Your tears had just …stopped!

Oh, there’s nothing quite like the love, compassion, and tender touch of our Heavenly Father.  We’ll never know a love that is as genuine, unconditional, tangible, or evident as His love.  We can depend on His love.  His love for us will never run out regardless of what we endure or the temptations we may face and oftentimes fail.  God’s love is still there standing like an enormous, unbreakable rock.

His love never fails.

His love never weakens.

His love lasts forever.

Reflections

1. Have you ever experienced God’s embrace?

2. Write a few lines about the circumstances that were happening in your life at the time.

3. How did you know that something had changed for the better?

4. What did that experience tell you about how God feels about you?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I just want to give You praise and honor for Your never-ending love for me. It goes beyond human comprehension and mere words cannot express my love for You.  I am so grateful for our relationship.

In The Name of Jesus, Amen.

Grateful For God’s Love

Grateful For God’s Love

 @2022 by Kimberly L. Smith

Aren’t you grateful for God’s love and that He knows you personally?  Out of the multitudes of people He created, He has not forgotten one of their names.  He hasn’t forgotten the exact date and time that you left heaven to make your entrance into the earth.  He knew the precise number of hairs that you would have on your head, what race you would be, what your personality would be like, and so much more.  Only God could do that!

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”      – Luke 12:6-7 NIV

You were handcrafted by God, then He blew His precious breath of life into you and said, “live.”  To God be the glory!  Because God is omniscient, no matter how old you are, He still knows every minor detail that pertains to you.  He hasn’t lost interest in you.  Even though there may have been times that you chose to go your own way, He remained faithful and His love for you remained unshakeable.

It’s a fact, God will never stop loving you or caring about you.  Always remember how blessed you are and that the God of the entire universe will always have His eyes upon you.  You can depend on His love.  The Lord cherishes His relationship with you.  You bring honor to His name by making Him first in your life.

Reflections

  1. What are you most grateful for regarding your relationship with the Lord?
  1. Write a letter to the Lord expressing your love for Him.

Prayer

Dear Lord,

I come to You thanking You for Your amazing love. There is absolutely nothing that compares to it. I am so grateful that You always have me on Your mind. There’s not a time when You are not aware of everything that affects me whether good or bad.

Lord, I thank You that I can always count on Your love because it’s solid like an unbreakable rock. It’s stable and secure and doesn’t change. Your love is not temperamental but, it consists of something that I can’t even describe. Thank You Father for Your unconditional love. Thank You for blessing me to be wrapped in the miracle of Your love.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
