When you initially read the title of this blog you may have looked at it as a question instead of a statement.  Perhaps you silently thought about some relationship issues that you were having, financial struggles, or some personal conflict that you just can’t seem to get over.  And God forbid, if you have all of those things happening at the same time then you certainly may have silently questioned if “24 Hours Towards Obtaining Inner Peace,” was even possible.

First let’s start out with the fact that with God all, not just some but, all, things are possible through Him that loves us.  And whatever situations that you are facing are not too hard for Him.  I am going to talk about a few things that will definitely help you.  It’s important to note that God will often change the way that you handle adversity before He changes the situation.

Quiet Moments With God

Get some quiet time alone with God.  He’s waiting to hear all about what’s troubling you.  Of course He already knows everything about you but, you will feel much better when you talk to Him about it.

While you are in that special place with God begin to meditate on His word.  Find scriptures in a concordance or simply Google words that pertain to your specific situation such as, peace, finances, healing, or relationships.

Use those scriptures in your prayers to God.  For instance, one of the scriptures that you find may be: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isa 26:3

You could pray a pray a simple prayer such as:

Dear Lord,

I know that Your word says that You will keep me in perfect peace if my mind stays on You.  Lord, I confess that with everything going on in my life I am having such a hard time keeping my mind on You.  Please give me the grace to stay focused on You instead of the Circumstances.  I am so grateful for Your love; please consume me with Your peace.

In Jesus name, Amen

Make Sure Your Thoughts Line Up with the Word

When you have a lot going on in your life the devil loves to play tricks with your mind.  Learn to recognize His voice immediately.  You are trying to get to a state of having inner peace so you don’t have time to entertain or give any power to the enemy’s deceptive tactics.  If you’re having thoughts that totally go against the word of God then you know to instantly reject and rebuke each one.  Replace each thought with the powerful, life changing word of God and stand on it.

Let’s look at John 10:10 for a minute, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The Lord makes a clear distinction in that scripture.  He refers to the devil as “the thief.”  That is a perfect word to describe him because he tries to rob you of anything the Lord wants you to have including your peace.

I love how this scripture ends on a good note.  Jesus says, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”  We can always count on Him to bring light to any dark situation. We can always count on Him to save the day!

The things that I shared in this blog can be used right away.  If you are already actively doing what you have read please share this with someone who may need it.  May the Lord cover you with His peace as never before.

Reflections

1.    What scriptures will you stand on to help you maintain your peace?

2.    Do you have a special place set to spend your quiet time with God?

3.    What else can you think of to help you obtain inner peace?
